Description: Slabbed by NGC Choice VF, 4/5-5/5. Certification number 4165683-001. Very Rare. A wonderful mythological type featuring a winged female creature, most likley a Siren, holding the city's emblamatic tunny fish by the tail, is one of Kyzikos's most delightful coin types. Sirens are mentioned in Homers Oddessy where they lure sailors onto the rocky reefs and to their deaths with their irrisistable song. The scarcest type from this series featuring a half-legnth bust of a Siren rather than the typical Harpy with bird body and feet. There is some confusion with this series. A Harpy is a wind or air nymph while a Siren is an aquatic nymph.
